Pikey Peak trek is the most beautiful trekking trail of lower Solu due to its panoramic spot. Located on the elevation of 4065m, it is being popular recently because of its picturesque view and one can observe the  excellent views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Number Himal and other hundreds of small snowcapped mountains along with sunrise from the summit. One can get there through different trail such as Jiri or Okhaldhunga and Phaplu. The best and easiest way is vial Phaplu. You can drive or fly to Phaplu and then trek to Pikey peak. The trail goes through nice Sherpa village with unique culture where you will be welcomed with warm hospitality. You can see different sorts of flora and fauna along with old Buddhist monastery. It can be done mainly from August to end of May.

 

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Day 02: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Day 03: Drive to Phaplu (2380m) and stay overnight

Day 04: Phaplu to Junbesi (2680m) 4/5 hours

Day 05: Rest day at Junbesi

Day 06: Junbesi to Pikey Phedi (3640m) 4/5 hours

Day 07: Pikey Phedi to Pikey peak (4065m) and trek to Loding 6/7 hours

Day 08: Loding to Phaplu (2380m) 3/4 hours

Day 09: Fly back to Kathmandu

Day 10: Free day for Shopping

Day 11: Final departure

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport is the only one international airport of Nepal from where you will be welcomed with a great hospitality by the representative of United Brothers Trek and Expedition and transferred to the hotel. After having checked in the hotel, we will give you a short briefing about the trip and collect the essential documents (Passport and Photos) from you to issue the trekking permits. You can rest the leisure time exploring around and stay a night at the hotel with breakfast.

Day 02: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu

You can get up in the morning and have breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we will come to pick you up at the hotel and take for full day sightseeing around Kathmandu valley (the world heritage site). At first, we will drive you to Swayambunath Temple. Swayambunath means self-originated Buddhist Temple which is known as Monkey Temple as well. It is located on the top of the hill from where you can see the superb view of the whole Kathmandu Valley. After having visited this holy temple, we will drive you to Boudha Stupa. It is a holy place for Buddhist and pilgrims which was slightly damaged during due the tremor of 2015 but later rebuilt. It is one of the largest spherical stupas in the world. From here, we will take you to Pashupatinath Temple that is pretty close from Boudhanth. Pashupatinath Temple, located at the bank of the Bagmati River is one of the biggest and most popular Shrines where you can behold for Hindus. Pashupatinath Temple which is the biggest Hindu Temple. You can see the ritual and cremation activities according to the Hindus Culture. At the end of the day, we will return back to the hotel. By the evening, we will take you to a Nepali restaurant for welcome dinner with typical Nepali cultural dance. At last, we will drop you to the hotel and spend a night with breakfast.

Day 03: Drive to Phaplu (2380m) and stay overnight

We drive early in the morning to Phaplu which may take at least 8/10 hours by Jeep. We spend a night at Phaplu.

Day 04: Phaplu to Junbesi (2680m) 4/5 hours

Phaplu is a beautiful village where a small airport is located. From here, the trail goes through nice Sherpa village with the superb views of Mt.Numbur Himal, Pekey Peak and the green country side. The way descends slowly down and goes along the river and gets to Beni. The way gently climbs up till Junbesi after Beni village. It takes about 4/5 hours

Day 05: Rest day at Junbesi

Junbesi is a lovely Sherpa village where you can visit an old Buddhist Monastery. Today, you can hike up to Thupten Chholing Monastery. It is one of the biggest monasteries of Everest region. You can visit this monastery and then return back to Junbesi and stay overnight at the same lodge.

Day 06: Junbesi to Pikey Phedi (3640m) 4/5 hours

On the next day, we will have breakfast and then trek to Pikey Phedi. The way gradually ascends at the beginning and arrives at Takthobuk. The trail continues through dense forest of pine trees and Rhododendron trees with small ascending. At the end of the day, we will arrive at Pikey phedi where only few lodges are available for accommodation. We spend a night there.

Day 07: Pikey Phedi to Pikey peak (4065m) and trek to Loding 6/7 hours

Pikey Peak is the main destination of our journey. Hence, we start our journey early in the morning to observe the spectacular views of snowcapped mountains views along with sunrise. You can see, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Numbur Himal and other various small peaks which makes your entire trip unforgettable. From here, we descend down to Loding and spend a night at Lodge.

Day 08: Loding to Phaplu (2380m) 3/4 hours

Today, we trek to Phaplu crossing the Solu River and finally get to Phaplu and stay a night there at lodge.

Day 09: Fly back to Kathmandu

From Phaplu, we fly back to Kathmandu which may take 25 minutes and you can see the beautiful views of the snowcapped mountains along with green countryside. The airport representative of our company will pick us up and transfer to the hotel.

Day 10: Free day for Shopping

You have whole day free today and during the spare time you can do shopping then explore around the city.

Day 11: Final departure

Our company representative will come to the hotel to pick you up and then drop to the International airport for final departure.
