Ghandruk Circuit trek is one the best parts of Ghorepani trek which starts from Nayapul and ends at Phedi. It is one of the shortest treks of Annapurna region. The main aim of this trek is to visit one of the most beautiful Gurung village called Ghandruk. It is located on the elevation of (1,940m) and you can see the Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna and Fish Tail very clearly if the weather is fine.

It is a huge Gurung village where you can visit old and new Gurung museum which shows the real culture of Gurung Community. Gurung is one of the enthnic groups of Nepal and they have their own distinct language and custom. They are known as Gorkhali as well because most of the British armies are from their community. This trek goes along the tiny village of Syaulibazaar, Landruk, Tolkha, Pothana and Dhampus.You can behold the excellent views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, Annapurna iii, Lamjung Himal and the entire Pokhara valley.

The unique culture of Gurung and Magar, different sorts of flora and fauna, the green view of rural area of Nepal and Pokhara valley are the main attraction of this trek. The best season is from August to May.

 

Brief itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m) by tourist bus 6/7 hours  

Day 04: Pokhara to Nayapul (1,070) and trek to Syaulibazaar (1,220m) 3/4 hours

Day 05: Syaulibazaar to Ghandruk (1,940m) 4/5 hours

Day 06: Ghandruk to Tolkha (1,700m) 3/4 hours

Day 07: Tolkha to Fedi and back to Pokhara (820m) 5/6 hours

Day 08: Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus (7/8 hours

Day 09: Free day in Kathmandu

Day 10: Final Departure to the airport

 

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport is the only one international airport of Nepal from where you will be welcomed with a great hospitality by the representative of United Brothers Trek and Expedition and transferred to the hotel. After having checked in the hotel, we will give you a short briefing about the trip and collect the essential documents (Passport and Photos) from you to issue the trekking permits. You can rest the leisure time exploring around and stay a night at the hotel with breakfast.

Day 02: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu

You can do full day sightseeing around Kathmandu valley (the world heritage site) today. At first, we will drive you to Swayambunath Temple. Swayambunath means self-originated Buddhist Temple which is known as Monkey Temple as well. It is located on the top of the hill from where you can see the superb view of the whole Kathmandu Valley. After having visited this holy temple, we will drive you to Boudha Stupa. It is a holy place for Buddhist and pilgrims which was slightly damaged due to the tremor of 2015 but later rebuilt. It is one of the largest spherical stupas in the world. After that we will go to Pashupatinath Temple that is pretty close from Boudhanth. Pashupatinath Temple, located at the bank of Bagmati River is one of the biggest and most popular Shrines where you can see the ritual and cremation activities according to Hindus Culture. At the end of the day, we will return back to the hotel and by the evening go for farewel dinner.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m) by tourist bus 6/7 hours

On the next day, early in the morning, we will go to the tourist bus station to head to Pokhara which takes approximately 6/7 hours. Pokhara is 200km far from Kathmandu and the journey commences with the beautiful scenery of Trishuli River, Manaslu Himal, Lamjung himal and the green countryside. After 6/7 hours of long drive we will get to Pokhara. Pokhara a beautiful city for tourist is the starting point of most of the short and longer treks of the western Nepal. It has its own value due to the tremendous view of Mt. Fishtail, Gangapurna, Annapurna iii, Lamjung Himal, Stupa view and Fewa Lake. You can visit, Devis Fall, Mahendra Cave, Bat Cave, Barahi Temple, World Peace Stupa and Sarangkot. World Peace Stupa and Sarangkot are the best view point of Pokhara from where you can see the picturesque views of entire Pokhara valley and mountains views of Annapurna range. We spend a night there with breakfast.

Day 04: Pokhara to Nayapul (1,070m) and trek to Syaulibazar (1,220m) 3/4 hours

Today, we will go by a car to Nayapul which takes about 2 hours. On the way,you can see the wonderful views of Mt. Fish Tail, Annapurna South, and Annapuna II along with Pokhara valley. Nayapul is the starting point of our trek from where we walk through small villages to Birethanti which is the main entrance of Ghorepani trek. There is a signpost which shows the way to Ghorepani and Ghandruk, We follow the right arrow which goes through the bank of Modi River and tiny village and finally arrives at Syaulibazaar. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Syaulibazar to Ghandruk (1,940m) 4/5 hours

From here, the trail gently climbs up through stone staircase route with view of beautiful rice traces, Annapurna South, Fishtail and Hiunchuli and gets to Kimche where we stop for a cup of tea. After that we continue our journey to Ghandruk through nice stone paved route and tiny village and as you get near the bottom of Ghandruk village, you can see the way to Landruk. From here, we ascend again and you can see a water mill on your left side while ascending. At the end of the day we will arrive at Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a huge Gurung village where you can visit old and new Gurung museum which shows the real culture of Gurung Community. You can see the picturesque view of Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Gangapurna and Fish Tail very near of the weather is clear. We stay a night there at lodge.

Day 06: Ghandruk to Tolkha (1,700m) 3/4 hours

After having spent a wonderful night at Ghandruk, we start our trek after breakfast. We descend straight down through the stone paved route with the beautiful scenery of Landruk and Tolkha village and cross the Modi Khola and then climb up to Landruk. Landruk is another big Gurung and Magar village where many nice lodges are built for accommodation. From here, we continue our journey to Tolkha which takes around 1 hours slowly. The way goes through small villages, jungle, crosses a small river and makes a small climb for 20 minutes. At the end of the day we arrive at a beautiful village called Tolkha where you can get many nice lodges for staying. We spend a night there.

Day 07: Tolkha to Phedi and back to Pokhara (820m) 5/6 hours

Tolkha is a beautiful village from where the trail goes through small forest and village and crosses a stream over the bridge and then makes a climb till Deurali. As you get Deurali, you can see Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna south. From here the trail goes through beautiful forest with easy route and reaches at Pothana. Pothana is beautiful village located on the top of the hill from where you can see the entire Pokhara valley along with the panoramic views of Annapurna South, Annapurna iii and Lamjung Himal. From here, we constantly descend down to Dhampus village through jungle and finally arrives at Phedi. From Phedi we catch a taxi and drive back to Pokhara. Today is the last day of our trek. So, the spare time, you can explore around lakeside and spend a night there with breakfast.

Day 08: Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus 7/8 hours

From Pokhara we will return back to Kathmandu by tourist bus which takes around 6/7 hours. We stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast.

Day 09: Free day in Kathmandu

Today, you have whole day free. So, you can do shopping and prepare for your final departure. By the evening we will take you to a restaurant for farewell dinner and drop to the hotel after dinner. We stay overnight at the same hotel with breakfast.

Day 10: Final Departure to the airport

We will drop you to the airport for your final departure and say good bye until next visit.
