Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)
Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport is the only one international airport of Nepal from where you will be welcomed with a great hospitality by the representative of United Brothers Trek and Expedition and transferred to the hotel. After having checked in the hotel, we will give you a short briefing about the trip and collect the essential documents (Passport and Photos) from you to issue the trekking permits. You can rest the leisure time exploring around and stay a night at the hotel with breakfast.
Day 02: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu
You can do full day sightseeing around Kathmandu valley (the world heritage site) today. At first, we will drive you to Swayambunath Temple. Swayambunath means self-originated Buddhist Temple which is known as Monkey Temple as well. It is located on the top of the hill from where you can see the superb view of the whole Kathmandu Valley. After having visited this holy temple, we will drive you to Boudha Stupa. It is a holy place for Buddhist and pilgrims which was slightly damaged due to the tremor of 2015 but later rebuilt. It is one of the largest spherical stupas in the world. After that we will go to Pashupatinath Temple that is pretty close from Boudhanth. Pashupatinath Temple, located at the bank of Bagmati River is one of the biggest and most popular Shrines where you can see the ritual and cremation activities according to Hindus Culture. At the end of the day, we will return back to the hotel and by the evening go for farewell dinner.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar then drive to Chichila (1,980m) 50 minutes flight, 3-4 hours drive
We drive to Kathmandu domestic airport early in the morning to fly Tumlingtar. It takes approximately 45 minutes and you can see the beautiful scenery of Langtang range, Ganesh Himal along with green countryside. After 45 minutes of scenic flight we will land at Timlingtar airport, meet with our crew and catch a jeep then drive to Chichi La. We stay overnight at normal lodge.
Day 04: Chichi La to Num (1,560m) 6-7 hours
Chichila, a small beautiful village is located on the top of hill. From here, the trail the goes through small village with the lovely views of countryside and on the way you can see the typical culture of ethnic groups of Nepal along with Brahmin and Chhetri. We will stop for lunch middle of the way and continue to Num. It takes about 6-7 hour and stay overnight at Num.
Day 05: Num to Siduwa (1,500m) 6-7 hours
Num is the main turning point for Makalu and Hatiya from where the ways depart separately. On the next day, we trek to Seduwa. The way descends down to Bagar through small village with rice terraces then starts slightly uphill to Seduwa. Today, you can observe the typical Nepalese culture of hilly region along with green valley of the countryside. It takes approximately 6-7 hours. We spend a night there at normal lodge.
Day 06: Seduwa to Tashigaon (2,100m) 4-5 hours
Seduwa is one of the beautiful villages of Makalu base camp trek where a secondary school is located. From here, the trail is flat and uphill till Tashigaon. The main occupation of the local people is cultivation. Today, you can visit a monastery as well on the way to Tashigaon. After 4-5 hour of walking, we will arrive at another lovely village called Tashigaon where we spend a night at normal lodge.
Day 07: Tashigaon to Khongma Danda (3,500m) 6-7 hours
Tashigaon is one of the huge Sherpa villages of this trek from where we trek to Khongma danda. The entire way is uphill and the way goes through dense forest. We have to take packed lunch for the day because there is no any good lodge on way. We continue our journey to Khongma Danda which may take at least 6-7 hours where we stay overnight at normal tea house.
Day 08: Khongma Danda to Dobate: 6-7 hours
Khongma danda is normal yak and cows pasture. From here, the way gently ascends and after 1 hours of walking you will see a small black lake. It is believed that no one is allowed to make a noise around it. If someone ignores the rules and regulation of this area, they have to face with difficulty or bad luck during their trip. We continue our journey to Dobate and you will meet again another bigger black lake. From here, the way descends through dense forest and finally gets to Dobate. It takes at least 6-7 hours.
Day 09: Dobate to Yangle Kharka (3,557m) 4-5 hours
Dobate is located in the middle of dense forest. The route descends and crosses a river flowing from Mt. Makalu. This area is taken the most dangerous route due to landslide hence we have to be careful while passing the trail. The entire way goes through the bank of Makalu rive and finally gets to Yangle Kharka. It is a huge lawn where only few lodges are available for accommodation. It takes at least 4-5 hours.
Day 10: Yangle Kharka to Langmale Kharka or Sersung: (4,410m) 4-5 hours
After having spent a night at Yangle Kharka Today, trail is a bit uphill, goes through tiny trees along with yak pasture to Langmale Kharka or Sersung. On the way, you can see the picturesque view of South face of Mt. Makalu if the weather is crystal. It takes almost 4-5 hours and we sleep overnight there.
Day 11: Rest day
You have full day rest for acclimatization. You can wash your clothes and relax the leisure period.
Day 12: Hiking to French Base Camp 5300m (6-7 hour)
Today, we will head up to French Base Camp to see the picturesque views of Mt. Makalu 1st, Makalu 2nd, Lhotse, Lhotse Syar, Everest, Barunche and Chamyang. We have to take packed lunch, chocolate and water for the day. We have to go through glacier while heading up French base camp and return back to Camp through the same route.
Day 13: Sersung to Dobate: 6-7 hours
We will return back to Dobate through the same way which may take 6-7 hours.
Day 14: Dobate to Khongma Danda: 5-6 hours
As usual, we start our journey after breakfast. Today, we descend down to Khongma Danda which take at least 5-6 hour
Day 15: Khongma Danda to Siduwa: 4-5 hours
From here, we return back to Siduwa through the same route.
Day 16: Seduwa to Num: 5-6 hours
On the next day, we descend down to Bagar and climbs up again till Num from the same way which may take about 5-6 hour.
Day 17: Num to Tumlingtar: 6-7 hour
Today is the last day of our trek. We return back to Tumlingtar from the same route and stay overnight there. By the evening, we celebrate last day of our memorable trek being together with porters, distribute tips and say thank you and good bye for their hard job.
Day 20: Tumlingtar to Kathmandu: 50 mins flight
We fly back to Kathmandu after the long memorable trip of Makalu base camp trek. You can do shopping and relax in Kathmandu. By the evening we will take you for farewell dinner.
Day 21: Final departure
Our company representative will come to the hotel to drop you to the airport for final departure.
