Manakamana is a famous destination for both Hindus and Buddhist. It is located to the west of Kathmandu Valley on the elevation of 1300m from sea level. The combination of two words Mana means (heart) and Kamana means (wish) temple is a highly respected holy place of Hindu Goddess Bhagwati an incarnation of Parvati. It is believed that the Goddess Bhagwati rewards those who visit the pilgrimage to her shrine by granting their wishes. This temple is 105km far from Kathmandu which takes around 4 hours by bus or private car. There were no any facilities of transportation to visit this temple a few years before but nowadays all the pilgrims can go by a cable car ride about 10-20 minute from Prithavi High way. It is situated on the top of the hill which offers the breathtaking views of Manaslu, Himchuli and Aannapurna Mountain to the north.
