Dudhkunda and Pikey Peak trek

Dudhkunda, the most popular pilgrimage is located on the lap of Mt. Numbur Himal which has its own religious value among Nepalese community. Dudh means milk and kunda means lake. So it is known as Milk Lake that lies on the elevation of 4600m. Every year in August, thousands of pilgrims visit this lake to fulfil their dreams and wishes. The green valley, gorgeous mountains views, holy lake, monasteries, different sorts of flora and fauna make the entire tour interesting and memorable. The trail crosses huge yak pasture, high pass with up and down. Pikey peak, the next beautiful destination is located on the height of 4100m. It is one of the best viewpoints from where you can see the entire mountain views of Annapurna, Langtang, and Khumbu region along with Makalu and Kanchenjunga. More than 8 mountains above 8000m and hundreds of other small peaks and unbelievable scenery of sunrise can be observed from the top. This holy place gives you a lifetime memory. The best season for this trek is September to December and Feb to May.

Detail itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
On the first day of your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed at the airport by our airport representative and then transferred to the hotel.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu and welcome dinner by the evening
Today, we will do full day sightseeing in Kathmandu mainly, Swoyambunath temple, Boudhanath Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square. By the evening, we will have welcome dinner with special Nepalese foods.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Phaplu (2,413m) by Jeep 8/9 hours
Drive to Phaplu early in the morning which may take at least 8/9 hours.You can see beautiful mountain views of Numbur Himal, Mt. Everest, Makalu, Mera peak and much more from Patle en route if the weather is clear. We stay one night at Phaplu
Day 04: Trek to Taksindo (3,140m) 5/6 hours
From here, we trek to Taksindo through the green jungle along with good views of Number Himal, chiwang Monastery and the lovely valley of solu region. We continue the journey passing Ringmo village and finally arrive at Taksindo which takes about 5 hours. We stay overnight at lodge.
Day 05: Trek to Saharsa beni (4,000m) 6/7 hours
Taksindo is located on the top of the hill and from here the trail turns to the left side of Everest base camp trail. It goes through dense forest of rhododendrons and pine tries with uphill till kamo danda. It is the best view point from where you can see awesome views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Kusumkangru, Thamserku, Mera peak, Makalu, Numbur Himal and much more. Then the way is a bit up and down and finally gets to Saharsa beni. We stay overnight at normal lodge.
Day 06: Trek to Dudhkunda(4,600m)  and back to Saharsa beni(4,000m) 5/6 hours
Saharsa beni is located on the bank of Dudhkunda river on the elevation of 4000m where few normal lodges are available for accommodation. Today we hike up to Dudhkunda Lake and then return back to the same place. From here the trail is little bit uphill up to the lake which takes approximately 4 hours. We take packed lunch and sufficient water for the day. Dudhkunda Lake is located on the lap of Mt.Number and Karelung. Due to a very popular holy lake, every year at Nagpanchami and Janaipurnima (falls on August), thousands of Nepalese come to visit and worship it. It is believed that if you ask something to this lake, it will fulfil your dreams. After visiting this lake, we descend down to saharsa beni and spent another night at the same place.
Day 07: Trek to junbesi (2700m) 8/9 hours
On the next morning after breakfast, we’ll head to Junbesi which takes approximately 8/9 hours. From here, the trail goes through tiny bushy incense with little up and down passing huge yak pasture and high passes with the breathtaking views of Numbur Himal, Karelung, Mt. Everest, Makalu, Mera peak, kusum kangaroo along with the green valley of Solu. Today, we have to carry packed lunch due to long way. From the last pass of the trip, the way descends down to Thoptenchholing monastery through pine and rhododendron trees. After having visited the holy place then we continue the journey down to Junbesi and stay overnight there at lodge.
Day 08: Rest day
Junbesi is a beautiful Sherpa village, where you can visit a very old monastery and higher secondary school. Nearby it, you can visit another beautiful monastery as well. It is located at Sela which takes about 30m of ascending from Junbesi. Today, you can explore those beautiful and holy places.
Day 09: Trek to Jasmane Bhanjyang (3,450m) 6/7 hours
Today, the way gently ascends with the superb views of Numbur Himal and Junbesi village. The trail constantly ascends passing taktor village through beautiful forest of pine and rhododendron. At the end of this village, there is a small tea house where we stop for lunch. From here, the way is a bit uphill and goes through rhododendron trees and after 3 hours of walking you’ll reach on huge yak pasture from where you can observe thrilling sceneries of giant mountains mainly, Gaurishankar, Manaslu, Mardi Himal, Manaslu, Karelung, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Mera peak and other numerous small peaks and green views of the countryside. On the other hand, you can see the beautiful pikey peak just standing ahead of you.From here, we slowly descend down to Pikey base camp which takes about 3 hours from Lamjura. We spend a night there at normal lodge.
Day 11: Pikey peak (4,100m) and back to Jasmane Bhanjyang (3,450m) 5/6 hours
Pikey is our final destination that locates on the elevation of (4065m) from where you can see the unbelievable mountain vista of Annapurna, Langtang and Everest range. We start the journey early in the morning to see the sunrise from Pikey peak which takes approximately 3 hours. The entire way is uphill and goes through rhododendron trees. Pikey peak is divided into two on the same elevation. From the top you can see the breathtaking views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Gaurishankar, Numbur Himal, Karelung, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and numbers of small peak along with sunrise. This moment will be an experience of a lifetime for us. After that, we descend down to base camp through the same way and stay overnight there.
Day 12: Trek to Phaplu (2,400m) 5/6 hours
Having spent two nights at Pikey base camp, the trail descends down through dense pine forest by passing Loding and TanbaKhani village. At the end the route crosses Solu Khola and then climbs up to Phaplu about 45 minutes. It takes 5 hours to reach Phaplu from Pikey base camp. We stay overnight at a lodge there.
Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu (1,350m) 8/9 hours
Early in the morning drive to Kathmandu by jeep which may take about 8/9 hours.
Day 14: Free day in Kathmandu
You have whole day free for shopping and by the evening we will take farewell dinner together.
Day 15: Final departure
We will drop you to the airport for your final departure.
