Jiri Everest Trek

Jiri Everest Trek is the oldest and longest Everest trekking route. Jiri is 200 km far from Kathmandu, but Shivalaya is approximately 260 km far from Kathmandu. It starts from Jiri or Shivalaya and ends at Lukla. The way was very bad and difficult to drive from Jiri to Shivalaya a few years ago, but later the local people redeveloped it well enough to drive. Hence the bus or Jeep can go from Jiri to Shivalaya and Bhandar easily in the winter and spring seasons but can't go in the summer season due to landslides and road blockages. You can book the bus or jeep to Shivalaya or Bhandar, then trek to EBC. Stunning mountain views like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Numbur Himal, Thamserku, Amadablam, and other hundreds of small peaks of the entire Khumbu region, old Buddhist monasteries, friendly Sherpa people and their unique culture, Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar, green scenery of rural areas, and different sorts of flora and fauna are the main attractions of this trek. On this trek, you have to cross Deurali and Taksindo passes. The way goes through a tiny, beautiful village and a green forest with ups and downs, which can make the trek sometimes tiring but finally leaves a good and unforgettable memory for your entire life.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 m)

Day 02: Kathmandu to Shivalaya by jeep 10/12 hours

Day 03: Shivalaya to Bhandar 5/6 hours

Day 04: Bhandar to Sete 5/6 hours

Day 05: Sete to Junbesi 6/7 hours

Day 06: Junbesi to Nunthala 5/6 hrs

Day 07: Nunthala to Bupso Danda 4/5 hours

Day 08: Bubso Danda to Surke 4/5 hours

Day 09: Surke to Phakding (2,610 m) 4/5 hours

Day 10: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) 6/7 hours

Day 11: Rest day for acclimatization

Day 12: Namche Bazzar to Tengboche (3,860 m 5/6 hrs)

Day 13: Tyangboche to Dingboche (4,410 m) 5/6 hrs

Day 14: Rest Day for Acclimatization

Day 15: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910 m) 4/5 hrs

Day 16: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,140 m) 4/5 hrs

Day 17: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,550 m) and back to Lobuche (4,910 m) 7/8 hrs
