Everest Mera 5th Lake trek is one of the newly and untouched trekking trail of Everest region. It starts from Phaplu and ends at Lukla. It is one of the best trekking trails of Arun valley trek which offers beautiful scenery of the countryside, culture of Kulung Rai, Sherpa communities which are regarded as the ethnic groups of Nepal. On the way to this trek, you can see the very old monastery called Ngonga Thektsoktsoling which is circulated by pine trees. The most important features of this trek is a holy pond called Panch Pokhari (Five Lake) which has great religious value among Hindu and Buddhist. The famous Mera peak from where you can see whole Mountain View of Everest region, Inkhu valley, Mt.Baruche, Kanchanjunga and Makalu above 8000m along with other numerous small peaks. This trek is proper for the people who want to take new experience of peak climbing along with adventurous trek in Nepal during their visit. The trekkers must be physically fit enough for that. However our company is flexible for the programme and we can make the itinerary on the basis of client’s request and their choice.

Type of our services:

In Nepal the trekking can be categorized into three types: Therefore we have the three types of services for trekking on the client's requirement and request. You can choose the service and email us at any time and price will be changed accordingly.

01: Fully Organized Camping Trek:

Camping trekking is that kind of trekking on which all the food are prepared and served to the clients in their own dinning tents and they have to spend their night an open area in the tent during the trek. This type of trekking are organized in those areas where Lodges are unavailable and difficult to accommodate during the trek. All the members have to sleep in the tents and breakfast, lunch and dinner are prepared by the cook and Kitchen staffs. The essential things such as tents, foods, utensils, tables, chairs, stoves and kerosene are taken from Kathmandu. Hence, this type of trekking is a bit expensive instead of tea house trek because we have to take everything from Kathmandu. The price covers all permits, transportation, staffs salary and insurance along with your domestic flight tickets, transportation and accommodation in Kathmandu as well.

02: Full Package Lodge or Teahouse Trek:

Teahouse or Lodge trek is a type of trek on which we will eat and sleep at lodge during the trek. The package covers all the foods (breakfast, lunch and dinner) accommodation, trekking permits, hotel in Kathmandu, arrival and departure, round transportation and domestic flight tickets along with staffs salaries, foods accommodation and their insurance.

03: Guide or porters services with accommodation:

This type of trekking is based on lodge trek. The price includes only guide or porter, his foods, accommodation, insurance and your accommodation and trekking permits during the trek. We are always flexible for the price and itinerary and please never hesitate to ask question if you have any queries. We are here just for you to give quality of service.

 

 

 

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport is the only one international airport of Nepal from where you will be welcomed with a great hospitality by the representative of United Brothers Trek and Expedition and transferred to the hotel. After having checked in the hotel, we will give you a short briefing about the trip and collect the essential documents (Passport and Photos) from you to issue the trekking permits. You can rest the leisure time exploring around and stay a night at the hotel with breakfast.

Day 02: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu

You can get up in the morning and have breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we will come to pick you up at the hotel and take for full day sightseeing around Kathmandu valley (the world heritage site). At first, we will drive you to Swayambunath Temple. Swayambunath means self-originated Buddhist Temple which is known as Monkey Temple as well. It is located on the top of the hill from where you can see the superb view of the whole Kathmandu Valley. After having visited this holy temple, we will drive you to Boudha Stupa. It is a holy place for Buddhist and pilgrims which was slightly damaged during due the tremor of 2015 but later rebuilt. It is one of the largest spherical stupas in the world. From here, we will take you to Pashupatinath Temple that is pretty close from Boudhanth. Pashupatinath Temple, located at the bank of the Bagmati River is one of the biggest and most popular Shrines where you can behold for Hindus. Pashupatinath Temple which is the biggest Hindu Temple. You can see the ritual and cremation activities according to the Hindus Culture. At the end of the day, we will return back to the hotel. By the evening, we will take you to a Nepali restaurant for welcome dinner with typical Nepali cultural dance. At last, we will drop you to the hotel and spend a night with breakfast.

Day 03: Drive to Sotang by Jeep 13/15 hours)

On the next day, we will drive to Sotang early in the morning by private Jeep which may take at least 13 to 15 hours. The route passes through Okhaldunga and Salleri. If the weather is clear, you can see the picturesque views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu 1, DhudKunda himal, Numbur Himal and much more panoramic views of the countryside. By the evening we will arrive at Bung and stay at a normal lodges. 

Day 04: Trek to Khiraule 5/6 hours

Sotang is a small village which is known as Shivatar as well. There is a small temple and shivatar name is derived from this small shiva temple. From here the trail climbs up through the small village through Patle and arrives at Chaklasi danda from where you can see the beautiful views of Mera peak along with the green valley of Sotang, chheskam and Gudel, After 5/6 hours of walking you will arrive at a small beautiful village called khiraule. We stay in a normal lodge there.

Day 05: Khiraule project

Khiraule is the most beautiful Sherpa village of Arun valley trekking route. Located on the elevation of approximately 2000m, it has its own natural beauty and the main attraction of this village is Ngonga Tekchhokchholing Buddhist Monastery which is circulated by tall pine trees and Mani. This village was fallen behind in every sector even in the 21st century as well. There was no any facilities of electricity. Namgel project has helped to make the hydropower for electricity. We will visit this project today and then spend leisure period exploring around the village.

Day 06: Khiraule Monastery Puja meditation

Today, we will visit the Khiraule monastery which is located in the middle of village. It is one of the oldest monastery of Solukhumbu district which is slightly damaged by the earthquake of 2015. Every month all the villagers get together in this monastery for puja. This monastery is surrounded by tall pine trees and Mani wall. You can do meditation there and then come back to the lodge.

Day 09: Cholima to Khola Kharka (4,400m) 5/6 hours

Cholima is a small yak pasture from where the trail slowly climbs up to Panch Pokhari with the sweet odor of Himalayan incense and herbs. On this day if the weather is clear you can see the superb view of the Inkhu Dale, green hill side and Dhudkunda Himal. It takes maximum six hours to reach Panch Pokhari which means combination of five ponds and it is very holy pond. People without children come here and wish for a child and believe that the god of this pond fulfills their wishes. We stay overnight in Panch Pokhari exploring the places around.

Day 10: Khola Kharka to Kothe (3,691m) 6/7 hours

with the excellent view of Panch Pokhari, Pangre Pokhari Danda and great yak pasture named Khola Kharka, the trail crosses a small stream and ascends gently about two hours and then descends down to Mujang Khola. From here we have to cross a small river called Mujang and the trail goes through a dense pine forest and get to Kothe. Kothe is the main point of the Lukla and Mera trek which is located at the bank of river and you can get many lodges here. It takes minimum 5 hours from Panch Pokhari to get to Kothe and we camp overnight here.

Day 11: Kothe to Tangna (4356 m) 5/6 hours

Kothe is a huge lawn in the mid of pine forest few years ago and was swept away later by a big landslide. The trail commences along the bank of river from Kothe to Tangna. On the way to Tangna you can see an old small monastery inside a cave and on the other hand you can see the picturesque view of Mera la, Charpate Himal which means rectangular mountain. After walking about 5 hours we get to Tangna which is a small and nice village located on the bottom of Mera and Charpate Himal and you can get few lodges here. At the end of the day we camp overnight at Tangna.

Day 12: Rest day at Tangna (4356 m)

We do rest and explore aroundTangna and stay overnight at there.

Day 13:Tangna to Khare (5045 m) 4/5 hours

After an exploration at Tangna and a rest from a long walk we head to Khare which takes about five hours. On the way to Khare you can see a nice ice lake on the bottom of Charpate Himal. Charpate Himal is a beautiful and holy mountain which is not allowed to climb by a government of Nepal. Meanwhile, you can see the Mera Peak, the magnificent view of Tangna valley which inspires you to climb up to Khare. Khare is the last small village of this trek where only few small tea houses are available. It is situated on the bottom of Mera Peak. Eventually we stay overnight at Khare by camping.

Day 14: Rest day at Khare

Khare is the small and last village of Mera region where we take rest for acclimatization. Today, you can do small hiking up to the hill, return back and practice to climb with your climbing guide near the hotel.

Day 15: Khare to Mera Base Camp (5350 m) 4/5 hours

The trail climbs up gently with a wonderful view of Charpate Himal, Mera Peak, Khare village, Tangna valley and other mountains. It takes about five hours to reach to Mera Base Camp.

Day 16: Mera high camp (5600 m) 5/6 hours

If you are mentally and physically fit then we start our journey from Mera Base Camp to Mera high camp. From here the trail slowly climbs up through icy road and you need to wear crampon while ascending.It takes approximately 5/6 hours and we sleep one night at high camp.

Day 17: Mera summit and back to Khare (5045 m) 9/10 hours

Today, we get up early in the morning and head to Mera summit. The way is slightly up till the top. You can see the breathtaking view of the whole Everest region, Makalu Himal, Barunche Himal, Kanchanjunga Himal, Inkhu valley, Mount Everest, Lhotse.Cho Oyu and other hundreds of small peaks from the summit. Hence, Mera Peak is taken as the best view point of the Everest region. After summit we'll return back to Khare.

Day 18: Khare to Kothe (3691 m) 5/6 hours

The way from Khare to Kothe is steep down and we walk for six hours to get to Kothe and stay overnight.

Day 19: Kothe to Chhatre (4610 m) 5/6 hours

We continue our journey from Kothe to Chhatre which takes about 6 hours. In the beginning the trail commences along the river then ascends slowly through huge pine forest, small bamboo trees, rhododendron of different kind and hills all around. After ascending three hours we get to a small stream where we take our lunch with the fresh air of the mountain. We finish our lunch and continue our trip to Chhatre. On the way to Chhatre we can see numerous magnificent view of the mountain, mainly Mera and Charpate Himal on one hand and on the other we can observe the green view of the countryside downwards. Chhatre is a small place where only two lodges and good camping sites are located and we stay overnight there.

Day 20: Chhatre to Chhutanga (3020 m) 5/6 hours

The trail slowly climbs up and after two hours we get to the Chhatre Danda. It is the last adventurous pass from where you can see the super views of Lukla village, Kongde Himal, Mera peak, huge Rocky Mountains and the green views of the low land country side. From here the path continues down to Chhutanga. Chhutanga is a small place situated in the Jungle and here you can get only few small tea houses. This area is covered with thick pine forest which is the main point for timber and woods for the local people and we spend overnight here.

Day 21: Chhutanga to Lukla (2840 m) 4/5 hours

It is the easiest and shortest day of the trek. We descend from Chhutanga to Lukla through the dense forest which takes about three hours. Lukla is a big village of Sherpa community. It is located on the lap of Kongde Himal which is the main entrance of the Everest trek where an airport and many luxurious lodges are available. Most of the trekkers commence their trek from Lukla to the Everest. Eventually after a long journey of trek we stay overnight.

Day 22: Lukla to Kathmandu (1350 m)

We fly from Lukla to Kathmandu which is a half an hour flight and check in the hotel.

Day 23: Free day in Kathmandu

Today you can do shopping for your final departure. By the evening we will do farewell dinner for the last day of your trip and spend overnight at hotel.

Day 24: Final departure

We will come to the hotel to pick you up and then drop to the international airport for final departure.
